Malcolm X Fall 2016 (CCCSON)

U.S.A. Illinois

Hey Everyone,

Long time lurker here!

I made a promise to myself. The only way that I will ever make an Allnurses account, is when I apply to nursing school. Well, that time has finally arrived, and I just finished submitting my application to the City Colleges of Chicago School of Nursing. I clicked on that submit button like a boss!

Good luck to everyone who applied.

I heard it was 2000 applicants last year! Yowza! I think we all have a good chance of getting in but with 2000 applicants who knows. I also have my emails forwarded to my phone so I don't check every 5 minutes :) Is anyone working as a PCT or CNA now? If so for how long?

But with the additional requirements, lets hope that 2,000 applicants goes down & increase our chances.

It was probably the same advisor who told me we didn't have to have CNA/BNA. Even though I told them that is one of the bolded requirements on the website.. Lol.

And omg early to mid- July??? That's pretty late. Especially for anyone who applied to multiple schools..

How much is tuition per semester? On the City Colleges of Chicago website it says around 2k, but I'm confused on whether its per semester/year/total cost.

I graduated from a CCC in April & tuition was around 2k for the whole year depending on how many hours you take. Im thinking it may be a little higher since its a Nursing major.

It is $1700 per semester for full-time. I don't think that includes the lab fees and whatnot for the nursing program. It is $1100 per semester for part-time. This past semester (spring 2016) is when city colleges made the change to a flat-rate tuition price. Before that, it was 86 or 89 dollars per credit hour as of Fall 2015.

Thank you both for answering my question!

I didn't read too much into the whole flat-rate tuition thing, but it seems they're making it more expensive for part time students.

Thats another topic...

It's almost July, and the the suspense is killing me.

Yeah it was 89 per semester hour when I attended Spring 2015. I didnt know they changed it. Yeah I feel the same, hopefully in the next 2-3 weeks we hear something back.

So I emailed the program director & assistant director and was told we will hear back by July 8th. We finally have a date to look forward to!

Let the countdown begin... I just want to know already!

JUST GOT MY ACCEPTANCE LETTER!!! I'M IN!!

Good luck to everyone!

see you guys soon.

I got accepted too! Yay!!
