CMK Healthcare is charging $15,000 for the entire program which includes books. They were planning to offer the Pharmacology course at the end of the program and now decided to place it as a pre requisite. I found out that LPN programs are not required to offer pharmacology. CMK wants to make sure that their students are well verse in pharmacology so that they can be competetive in the market.

They recently dropped their prices for their pre reqs. They are licensed under ISBE to provide LPN training. Currently not accepting financial aid due to being a new program.

Other schools are charging way too much... the most important thing is you come out with the right education and proper instruction

I am planning to join their classes this january

Hi Chris NS, I responded before about NLNAC accreditation. Although it is voluntary for colleges to enroll with the National League of Nursing Accreditation Council, many colleges or employers will not accept or hire you if you come from a school not accredited by the NLNAC. So your courses may or may not transfer to other colleges or universities besides St. Xavier. And just fyi, yiu have to take 12 credit hour courses with St. Xavier, and there is a long waiting list to get into their program, 2013 - 2014, CMK Health Care is not accredited by the NLNAC. It sucks, but it is what it is.

Hello formerrt, I've done so much research on these private nursing schools, I could bookkeep for them lol. Northwestern Institute of Health and Technology is not accredited by NLNAC. They are accredited by the Illinois State Board of Education and the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation -which are really the accreditations that matter because they set the standards. But most schools or hospitals only want to recognize the NLNAC. Send me a private message with your email or facebook info, and I'll try to guide you through my personal research.

I think NLNAC should not be something which should scare you since in Chgo area NLNAC accredited programs for LPNs are only those at Chicago Public Schools (but none of Community Colleges), College of DuPage and South Suburban College.

    See this link: http://www.nlnac.org/Forms/directorySearch.asp

As you can see, LPN programs on CCC (City Colleges of Chicago) are also NOT accredited.

You will find a job with Northwestern Institute, Americare or CMK since all these schools (among others) are accredited by the state and if you can go to NCLEX-PN you CAN find a job.

Of course You can bridge with all these schools. When you ask about bridging, other school look your license (NCLEX-PN), they don't care much about school.

St Xavier will accept you, and I made inquiry at Excelsior college in Albany, NY and they only care about NCLEX - they even didn't ask about school.

CMK Healthcares LPN program is still new, before a facility can be accredited, they would have to be offering the program that is to be accredited for a minimum of 1-2 years before being considered for acreditation. Once accredited they can then opt to offer grants.

The part where you stated that employers looks for accreditation is false. All employers look into is that you have a state certified license and that is the most important thing

In addition to accreditation, teh only thing that accreditation agencies want is that you pay the accrediting fee which normally adds up to $50-75000
