JJC (Joliet Junior College) Fall 2015

U.S.A. Illinois

Hey I don't know if a thread has already been started for this program but I am interested in applying for the February 15th deadline for the Fall 2015 start date at JJC. I haven't signed up for my TEAS yet because I don't want to pick a date that is too early or too late since I also need to begin studying but I was thinking about signing up for the Feb 2nd 4th or 5th date. If anyone else is applying to the program or is currently in the program please feel free to reply and share anything that you can. Thanks =)

I received an email to sign up for an essay date but I haven't seen a nursing counselor yet. I have an appointment for tomorrow but with the weather and they way I am feeling I may have to reschedule. Does anyone know what exactly the meeting is for and if it is something that may affect my admission in the program if I don't do it asap?

I was told the reason behind the appointment with the Nursing Advisor is either a) to change your major code for financial aid purposes if you are all set and applied this semester or b) to make sure everything is ready for you to apply the next semester, or to get direction on what to take before applying the next time.

When I had my appointment with the advisor after my TEAS, she even asked what I made the appointment for. LOL I told her it was a step in the process so I didn't want to leave any steps out that I was supposed to do. She went over my transcript with me, and we just talked about the program and she answered any questions I had. That is when she told me the only class I haven't taken that I need for graduation is Microbiology, and suggested I take it over the summer before the program begins in the fall.

I guess I would just set up an appointment for next week sometime. Check your academic summary and see if your major has been changed to Nu500 since you are moving forward in the selection process.

I never received an email about any other steps. When did you get that one?

How do I check my academic summary? And I think the email was only for those who need to do the essay. You got an 80 or above so I'm going to assume that you already have automatic admission so I wouldn't worry about that. But did you receive any emails at all recently?

my major says RN799 Pre-nursing

The only email I received was the one saying I was a qualified candidate on Friday. You will need to meet with the advisor to have your major code changed. To check your academic summary, you have to sign into e-resources through the JJc site. Then once you're in the student menu, there is a spot to click " my academic summary" on the right. I am assuming you found this since you saw the major code? Just didn't want to leave the question unanswered. :)

Lol yeah I did. Thank you. I just rescheduled my meeting for next week and yeah like you said I need to have the code changed for financial aid. I also received that email about being a qualified candidate as well as another email about the essay which I signed up for a date to take it. Like I mentioned, I think you're pretty much guaranteed admission then at this point.

Yes, I'm so excited. I called to tell them I didn't receive an essay email and they said there were 34 of us with an 80 or above on the TEAS automatically accepted. I am so exciteD!!!!! I am really rooting for you, so please keep us updated WHEN you receive your admissions essay :)

Thank you! And I meant to say "Let us know WHEN you receive your admissions letter". LOL It's been a long day! I look forward to meeting you in the future!

Lol ok, I will keep you all updated

Do you know anyone that can give some idea on what the essay is about?

Nevermind, I just re-read the rubric. I think I have a good grasp on what to write about
