JJC 2013 Spring Nursing Applicants ?

U.S.A. Illinois

Published

Hello - this is my very first time posting a new topic, hopefully I'm doing this correctly.

Just wanted to see if there are any ladies/gentlemen out there applying into the nursing program for the Spring 2013 semester. We apply the first two weeks of August - and then does anyone know how long until we take the TEAS test? I keep getting told different things, it's confusing.

Speaking of.....Hopefully I'm accepted and can then maybe make some friends. I'm so sick and tired of the people who tell you one thing that's untrue, all to mess with your head and make you second guess anything you've ever known about this nursing program. I know this is a competitive field and all, but sheesh already, the lies and manipulation have been unreal!

Also, I have to say, I admire anyone who has (especially while working FT w/a family) gone to school to take these pre-reqs while not even knowing if you will get in. The stress I have experienced, the stress and torture I have put my family through while leaving 3-4 nights a week after work, to go to school, while not even knowing if I'll be accepted, has been beyond brutal. I wish we could write an essay on all that we've sacrificed in hopes that would make some of the admissions counselors feel guilty enough to just put an approved stamp on our applications :)

Good luck to you all!

Hi All!

I enjoyed reading all of your posts and congratulations to getting into the JJC program. I am posting because I just applied for the Fall 2013 and am awaiting my TEAST testing date choices. While I wait, I thought I'd see how it's all going and to ask for any advice that you are all willing to give. Any comments that you have on how you studied for the TEAS (how long did you study, what areas were the most challenging, etc), what your GPA and TEAS scores were that enabled you to get in, and whatever else you could think of would be greatly appreciated. I have all my prerequisites completed with a 3.84, but the TEAS is making me nervous. It's been over 25 years since I had chemistry so some of the science sections are pretty intimidating. I look forward to hearing from you!

Thanks again!

Hello!i am an incoming student beginning this fall 2014. Not sure if anyone still comes into this board but seeing as you guys are all set to graduate do you have any advice to make it through?

I have a 7 month old so a little nervous about everything!!

Thanks for any input!

I had questions too and it seems like everyone just uses this board to express their feelings about getting into the program and leave without giving feedback on their progression...:bluecry1: kinda sad for students interested in the program..
