Current students doing Olivet Nazarene ABSN?

Hi,

I'm looking into ABSN programs and was wondering if anyone here is a current student at Olivet Nazarene (Oak Brook campus)? There was a thread on this about a year ago, and the reviews were pretty negative, but I haven't seen anything since. I like that this program is relatively close to where I live, and offers a blended online option. I would love to hear feedback on this program from current students (or recent graduates).

I just got accepted to this program and I am nervous because I don't know what I worried after reading the negative reviews.

I just added a comment to the first (I think original) thread about Olivet. That thread is close to 3 years old and never an update. I'm starting 8/24 for the ABSN at Oakbrook and couldn't be more excited. Yes, I wish there were more posts from current students and previous graduates, but this is the school I chose and I cannot wait!

i was just wondering if you could update me about how the program is going for you? I was considering starting in January but all the negative posts have scared me. I don't know what to do!!

It's a really difficult program. But everyone is there to help you succeed. Because it's such a new program, there all ongoing changes. This can be frustrating at times but all in all I'm happy there.

Honestly, it is still the same. There are ongoing changes, sometimes in the middle of a semester. This is part of what makes it tough, but mostly it's about how much you put in. You get out what you put into the program. If you do well at self-study and discipline, you will excel in this program. Do not procrastinate, read, study, and you will be just fine.

I am currently taking patho online and am set to start in August '16 as well. Have you found out much more information about the program?

Try avoiding this school (the oakbrook location). They are extremely nice to you initially but they will take your money and toss you out of the program in the middle of the program. Go to another school if you can. I have about 5 friends who got tossed out of the program for various reasons. Avoid the ABSN program at this school at all costs.
