U.S.A. Illinois

Hi!

I thought I would start a thread for those of us who have applied for the Fall 2012 Nursing Program at the City Colleges of Chicago. I have heard that they are letting people know on April 18th. Let's hope that's accurate because I'm so anxious to find out! Post here if you've heard anything at all in regards the the Nursing Program!

Hope to hear from everyone soon!

Kat

hello, and congrats on getting in :) I am in my first year 2nd semester right now at daley, you do start clinicals right away, for the first couple weeks we were at daley doing our skills, and then we moved on to our clinical sites. We have no idea how registration, for us it was a week before school started is when we registered in the fall, and our Director of nursing just resigned 2 weeks ago, so they have no idea how registration will work for anyone. I say if you can to take pharm over the summer, I have friends that did they said it was helpful..

Thanks for the info, Kerry! That's really helpful!

Were you able to miss any clinicals? I am getting married in October and am kind of worried about not being able to miss any classes. Was there a strict attendance policy? I would only miss one day!

Thank you for any insight you might have!

Kathryn

Kerry27: Where would you recommend taking pharm class? Thanks!

There is a summer Pharm class for nursing careers at Truman this summer MW 5-7:50.

Unfortunately, that is not going to work for me. I think I'm going to take the online Medical Terminology class. I'm hoping that will help me be a little more prepared.

@ Kerry27: would you also recommend taking Nursing 299; Special Topics in Nursing? Its only available during the summer. I was thinking of taking pharm and that nursing class this summer.

299 is a remediation class for first year. You can only take it if you do not pass the ATI exam at the end of year 1.

Omg I just got my acceptance letter today. Yay!

Congratulations vanny!

Hi kmccoy, was just wondering what 4yr school were you interested in going? and did you take statistics?
