U.S.A. Illinois

Published

Hey Guys/Girls,

I would like to start a thread for those of us who have applied for the Fall 2014 Nursing Program at the City Colleges of Chicago. Please post if you have any information you might have regarding acceptance letters and also ask questions regarding the process. I think this will be helpful for applicants as far as how the acceptance process is coming along as well as support through the waiting period.

Hope to hear from you soon!

Great...i guess I'll just reschedule my appointment. I would hate to go and not have the correct things. I did do the cpr with the people they had listed cpr associates so I hope it's right. Thanks for the info.

Truman for me too!

Hey guys Congratulations to all whom got accepted I as well got accepted into CCC FALL 2014 RN program. I just wanted to share with you all that I work for Chicago Pulse CPR training and since I will be one of your peers I figure I offer my classmates the opportunity to get their BLS healthcare providers CPR certification with me since I am a certified training for $20 bucks feel free to contact me 773-984-8130. - Dan Montes and again congrats and see you in the Fall!! or if not before ;)

Hello everyone! Just found this thread. I too have been accepted to Truman's program starting this fall! Have completed Bio 226/227 and Micro, and looking forward to having only Nursing 101 to worry about. Would recommend Sdralis for Micro and Ebrahim for Bio. I heard Huda and Kipnis are good for Nursing 101. Congrats to everyone who has been accepted! Has anyone successfully booked an appointment at Heartland yet? Every time I've called they tell me they aren't taking appointments yet. Thanks- SK.

I think I will take you up on this offer.. will be calling you soon. Thanks Dan!

Congratulations to both of you! I believe they are taking appointments now. You should call back.

Congratulations to you all! I am a recent graduate of the City Colleges (Daley) and it was the hardest work I have ever done in my life. I am scheduled to take the boards this July...wish me luck. Anyway the City Colleges program is fast paced so get ready. Stay organized and stay on top of the readings. Do you best and remember to keep you're eyes on the prize. There are a lot of politics going on within the city colleges as far as ATI and their questionable methods as far as how the test is used. Anyway, good luck to you all and if you guys have any questions feel free to ask me!

Sunny30 congrats on finishing the program and good luck! Thanks for the advice I know its going to be hard and I'm ready to give it my all because this is what I always wanted.

Hi all! Im hoping someone will reply to this as I know its kind of last minute. Has anyone gotten any emails from truman about their medical packets and if everything is ok with them. They just told me today that I am not immune to measles and need to get a booster vaccine, I find this weird because I am immune to mumps and rubeola, the other two diseases in the MMR vaccine, but I have scheduled an appointment with heartland again and am getting the measles vaccine somewhere else as they dont offer it. I think it is extremely irresponsible of them to close down the nursing department during the only time that we need it. Anyone else feel the same way? They told me I have til July 7th to submit evidence of my vaccine booster.

Anyone else having trouble with any of this?

Hi everybody! I applied for 2015 year. Nursing program site says that results will be sent by May, 29, but I notices that last year most applicants got results in April. I wanted to ask, did you get health exam before receiving result or after? If they send results in May, then only one month left till health exam deadline.

I think most of us did it after we got into the program.
