Any graduates of this program? Start in the fall and curious about the school....they have no website, so word of mouth for the school is all I have. Thanks for any insight.

Well, I am glad to see that CASPN finally got a website! :yeah:

The school does have a website, it's www.CASPN.org

It is not updated often, though.

i graduated from there in Jan. great program and teachers. hard work long hours but so very worth it!!!!!

I am a student at the school currently. I know the school has been good before, but this year it seems like there's a huge turnover of staff, administration, and teachers. There are good teachers, and a lot of school is what you make it, but things are being handled really sloppily. Also, they're requiring you to be a CNA before you come here. Which is even less reason to come if you're not already one. I would just head down the street and get in LLCC.

Kreme, what seems to be the problem? Besides the high turnover ra te of staff, what is causing the program to go down hill? LLCC has a one year wait list for their RN program. Only handful of the pre reqs have to be done before one can apply, so the year on the waitlist could be spent finishing up pre reqs.

The problem seems to be administration. It's somewhat unorganized. I'm sure every school has these problems and I every student body becomes disenchanted at some point. It just seems our class is getting hit hard this time around.

Considering the cost of this LPN program, the fact that there aren't as many jobs for LPNs in hospitals and the ones there are don't pay much. The incentive for going to this program was the fact that you didn't have to be a CNA. There aren't really many advantages to this program anymore. I would wait for LLCC.

I agree completely! I am currently enrolled there and in my 4th quarter and if this school had been like this during 1st quarter I never would have stayed in this program. I know people that have graduated from here before and they said it was a great school and it was in the beginning but things have definately changed!! They are constantly threatening you with dismissal or probation for the smallest things, it is so unorganized and almost seems like the rules are being made and changed as we go. We pay $250 technology fees in 1 semester and didn't even have computers for the whole 1st half of school and still don't have any printers!! Most websites are blocked also. The problems with this school are never ending! And administration is a whole other problem in itself. I would definately never recommend this school to anyone! I feel sorry for the 2 freshman classes that just started. I'm not the only one feeling this way either, the entire class is upset. Forty-two days left until graduation after today and it cannot come soon enough! For anyone thinking of entering this program please reconsider, I'd be happy to answer any questions.

Hi, I am looking to enroll in CASPN for the February session. I have been reading the varying opinions about the program I would like and "updated opinion". Maybe someone that just graduated or someone currently in the program. I would also like to know about possible housing options, I'm coming from the Chicagoland area and I want to know would I be able to file for some sort of housing or take out a loan, or any other kind of option, since working doesn't seem to be an option. Please Help! I need to know if I should go ahead with the commitment.

Coming from Chicago, huh? Me too! Be prepared for culture shock. There is no campus housing, you must find your own housing. Each student's cost of attendance budget includes a cost of living allowance of $6,400.00 per semester. The cost of living allowance may enable a student to take out student loans to help pay for expenses such as rent and utility bills. I am hoping to begin the LPN program in February as well. It is a nine month program (spread out over eleven months if you start in Feb.) that requires no pre-reqs, accepts financial aid, & costs approximately $8k. I challenge anyone to find such a program in Chicagoland. I know it doesn't exist; I've looked. It won't answer all of your questions, but check out the website: CASPN.ORG. You'll have to call for updated test dates. I hope that answered some of your questions. Good luck & please keep me posted on your decision; we may be classmates!

Wow...thanks, I didn't know about the "allowence" and housing had me concerned, because like you said, there is no such program in Chicago or Northwest Indiana. That is a relief. I talked with a Michelle and she said the housing director at UIS didn't mind letting CASPN students use their dorms and to talk with him if I was interested. Thank you so much though, keep me updated and I will let you know what I decide

Wow, I didn't know about the UIS, housing situation. Good luck! Schedule your entrance exam soon, they fill up fast.

How much is the total cost of the program?
