well, patho isn't that hard...as long as you are keeping up with your physiology. Basically the first 4 weeks are kind of tough just because a lot of it is review and examining the ways that the body reacts to an altered state of health. There is also a lot of new terms to learn, but they will be easy to remember because of the context and frequency of use. After that, then it is pretty easy to build on that knowledge base. For me, patho is really helping make more sense of normal physiology. Right now we're doing cardio stuff and I find that pretty challenging but youtube is always helpful-it's what I plan on doing to help review anything I'm not clear on

I highly recommend taking patho the semester prior, because I started reading a fundamentals of nursing textbook (not sure if it's the one we will use but it's a well known book by Taylor et. al) and it already bombards you with lots of patho terms that I just learned this semester so yea, I'm glad I'm taking it now.

Well I spoke with someone from the nursing school and she highly recommended that patho was completed prior to the program itself. So I went off her recommendation I know it will be hard but I'd rather work my butt off over the summer bc when the program begins I'm sure they'll be tons to do! I'm taking biology of cells and patho for the first summer session Bio on M& W 9-12:45 with lab on T & R 9-11:45 and patho T & R 6:00pm-9:45pm. Then for the second session im taking mth 1100 (college algebra) T & R 5:30-8:15.

I don't think Bio of cells will be too difficult bc it's stuff we've already learned just a bit more in depth. And as for patho it should be interesting, if you decide to take any of these classes maybe well meet each other! Anyways good luck, I hope this kinda helped
Wow so you too are going to be taking both cell bio and patho. I will take the advice of the person you talked to and get patho out of the way. i hope i don't burn out halfway through. hopefully it isn't much different then the patho i took at UCLA. what teachers do you have?

The only teacher I know that's teaching patho over the summer is one I have right now for a health professions seminar class. (******) if you're looking at the summer sched)He can be rigorous with A&P (so I heard) but I'm not sure how he is in patho since it's really not about memorization. I can't speak for cell bio since I took the equivalent of that at waubonsee.

1st time students have to have an advising appointment in order to register and also to go over your plan to make sure you're taking all the classes you need. The advisor will also help you navigate the WebAdvisor system that you will use for the rest of your time at AU. Once you're matriculated, as they call it, you can register for classes by yourself for the next semester
