I am beginning the nursing program in January and just wanted to get a heads up on any information anyone who is currently in the program might have. I am very nervous:uhoh3: Thanks.

How is the nursing program going at JJC? I am going to be applying there in August and I'm wondering what to expect.

who was your anatomy 1 & 2 teacher??

Hi. I am currently finising my 3rd semester of clinicals at JJC (graduate in Dec) and I can tell you it has been a long road... In some ways it has been easier than I thought it would be but in other ways much harder. If you are very determined and this is what you really want- you will do fine. I have 4 children and a very hectic life so if I can do it then anyone can! I will be happy to answer any questions if I can. Good luck!!

Hi tkokkine, I was just accpted into JJC's program for the fall. I have a son who is almost 2 & I am concerned about balancing motherhood, nursing school, and a job. I know you have more children so I am sure it was even tougher for you. I know that my house will be a mess and we may be eating takeout a lot, but is it possible? What was your schedule like at the beginning? Any tips for making good uses of time? Any tools that you found you couldn't live without?

Those are all the questions that I have at the moment. I'm sure I'll think of more!! ;)

I had Dr. Sal for A&P II and Dr. Nuyen for A&P I. :) I really liked both of them- who did you have Haneen?

I just sumitted my applicated for the Spring 2010 semester at JJC and am really hoping I get in! I have pretty good grades and have all prereqs completed.

I am looking for any and all information that you can give regarding the program itself and the time it consumes- I am a mother of two and am planning on working as a CNA part-time while in school. I am looking for someone to tell me if this at all feasible!

Im in ANP I write now with Dr. Salvatore and I have him for ANP II nxt semester...I as well just submitted my application...how are you preparing for the TEAS?

I ordered a study guide, but so far the reading section seems useless- quite easy. I'll let you know when I get to the math section! lol

Are you doing anything different?

no same thing but i havent started yet since im not done with ANP yet....I also bought the Kaplan nursing school entrance exam book from borders...

2 Months till we find out!

That's a great idea- maybe I'll go do that, too! I need all the help I can get since I don't think that I test very well.

I am dying to know already, and I am applying to a backup school (very backup), but JJC is a great program at a much lower cost, so I really am hoping that I test well on the Teas Test. How are your grades? You don't need to be specific or anything... :) Mine are just okay for the most part, but I attribute B's to me working full-time and being a mother who refuses to give up everything for school. I think my GPA for the Nursing program required classes is around 3.2ish. I am hoping that is good enough....

How do you like Dr. Sal? I wasn't sure about him at first, but ended up really liking him a lot!

I start the Fall semester in a few weeks! I am in the night program so at least I can spend my days with my 3 yr old.

I bought the TEAS study guide direct from them and then resold it after I tested:) The only thing it helped me with is Math. There is NO way to study up for Science on the test.It was bizarre random questions. English and Math are the two subjects I would study up on. The rest is pretty much what you already know, or dont know.

Salvatore is great - seriously, he saved my but in A & P. Took him for both 1 and 2. He allows you to correct your incorrect test answers which not only boosts your grades but allows you to absorb what questions you got wrong. He is totally recommended by me!

Good LUCK!
