Anyone attend or have info on SWIC?

I am looking for any info about the program at SWIC in Belleville. My mom lives in Belleville and I'm thinking of moving my family up there to start my nursing school adventure.

I've looked at the website a thousand times, but it's a little confusing to me. You only need to complete one semester each of bio, chem, and algebra in order to apply? I understand that the more classes you take the better your chances of getting in since they go by a points system, right? Do they only admit once a year? Are there any other ADN programs in the area?

I haven't been in school in 10 years and I'm a little freaked out!

hey thanks kyriakonie 4 the really great adivce.i just had a couple more questions and i hate to bother you so much,bt i was just wondering wut is the DET exam like and how hectic is the schedule?i have a son and im doing all this 4 him, but i was just wondering how often will i be really able to spend time with him

Hi! I was accepted and started the program this summer. I had 17 points and got in. They told me 15 was the minimum, but one of my friends actually had 15 and was an alternate. Her only chance of getting in was if someone dropped or decided not to accept their spot in the program. Luckily for her she got a call a week later and was in the program b/c someone denied their spot. I think with 18 points you will have no problem at all. The net test is fairly easy. The math portion is everything you learned in algebra. It was easy to me. The english portion was a little harder, don't sweat that test you will do fine. You won't even take that test until January. Well hope this helps!:D

thank u soo much 4 all the great advice,i swear all of this help is great.is nursing school really time consuming as everyone says it is?i just want 2 know how much time i will be able to spend with my son and actually have a social life outside of the program.again,i know i am asking so many questions,u all are very helpful and i just really thank u so much 4 that

Are the teachers flexible with the clinicals time or they pretty strict with the times to the point I have to work around the schedule? I ask this because I do not want to quit my evening job during the program.
