Quick question, on the acceptance letter it says that they offer Nurs 111 and Math 085 NM in the summer, is Math 085 NM a nursing math class? I can't find the class.

Another question, are we suppose to go to the counseling office first? to register, then go to orientation on wed to see who gets a chance to actually take the summer class-then finalize the registration for the class?

Anyone know of any nursing store to buy nursing supplies from?

Not sure about the math 085. I never had to take any math classes.

You'll register and pick your classes at orientation. It's based on a lottery system (you'll pick key chains with numbers on them). So you might not get to take Nurs 111 in the summer. It depends on the number you pick which will determine the order you're allowed to register. If your number is too high the section/class you want might not be available. There will be A LOT of people at the orientation.

I got my uniforms and some supplies from Work Wear Uniforms in country club hills. It's off kedzie and 167th. Same area as that Walmart just a bit to the west of it.

Just study when you get the chance. You should do okay. Just try to start out strong and save any notes/highlighting you take for the mid terms and final.
Being an LPN helped somewhat. I believe there were 3 LPNs (including myself) who started the program back in the fall, but I THINK I'm the only one left but I'm not 100% sure.

I'm just a little nervous about all of the immunizations, TDAP, TITIS, 5PANEL DRUG SCREEN, TB, PHYSICAL, FLU VACCINE, CPR! Ill try to find somewhere to take all of these and have the physician fill out the proper paper work.

I'm not sure if I asked you before, but did you take Nurse 111 in the summer? If so, do you remember any key points that you had to know? Any info would be awesome!!! Also did you use the "Contemporary Nursing" book?

No I'm not active. But everyone in the nursing program is automatically a member. Honestly I'd be more active if they were a bit more vocal about meeting times and dates. I was going to ask one of the instructors or someone if maybe they could make nursing club announcements in D2L regarding upcoming meetings (which are once a month) but never got around to it. I'll try 2nd year though.

If you have any immunization records remember to bring those to your doctors office along with the physical sheet. With the exception of CPR (and maybe the drug screen I forgot to ask my doctor if they did those there) you can get everything done at the doctors office. They do 6 Panel drug screens at St. James Olympia fields. Thought it was kind of expensive though I forgot the price.

Ya I took it last summer. I honestly don't remember much about it. It's not a hard class but don't freak out if you don't get an A or a B. I remember one person dropped after a few weeks because she was getting a B! It basically just covers some of the basics of nursing as a profession and how our healthcare industry works.

We used the book (my ex girlfriend actually used the same one in her nursing program) although I don't remember using it too much personally. Buy it used if you can, because after that class you won't be needing it again.

Thanks again! 2 nursing students from your year were at orientation for the nursing club and said that they will be announcing meeting times on d2l, so hopefully that works out!

I am going to take my drug screen today at st James in chicago heights, and next week I will get everything else done, I already have my cpr so I should be set!!

Question, those UNIFORMS! omg, did not fit me. they say the colors are hunter green, I believe top and bottom by LIFE UNIFORM, company in Tinely park, I bought them bought I don't like the fit so I will definitely check out the store in country club hills. Does it matter what shoes you buy? The uniform company at the school did not offer shoes. Do you have a litman stethoscope?

1more thing, did you purchase 6books for 101? or the additional 6 recommended books? i almost fainted when i saw the supplies for fall.
