CNA course at CLC

Hi,
I am about to take the CNA course at CLC to be able to screen again (I was accepted for Fall 09 but couldn't get the requirements completed in time) for the Spring Semester Nursing Program. Can anyone tell me which nursing homes they might use for clinicals? I am trying to figure out if I will have to change jobs just to complete this course as my current job is in Hoffman Estates and they are inflexible with the hours.
Thanks!

I just finished the Jan - March course at CLC. The two options we had were Winchester House in Libertyville and Manor Care in Libertyville.

Hi Chris,
Did you do your titers for the CNA since you need them for the Nursing Program, or did you just get proof of the required immunizations you've had for the CNA clinicals and do titers before the program in August?

I did not do titers for the CNA. I just had them drawn about a month ago at the health center for the nursing program starting in the fall. I picked up my results the other day, and do not need any boosters. So I am cleared to start clinicals, pending my drug screen which will be done at orientation.
Are you registered for the fall? days or nights? If so, make sure you get a physical and take your CPR class also.
I'm taking my CPR class at Lake Villa in July. It's cheaper than CLC.

Hi Chris, No I missed the boat for Fall kinda, i couldn't get my prerequisites all done in time, i have to take Microbiology in the fall. I am hoping to get accepted again for January start. Good luck with the fall program! I'll probably be asking a little about it again as its going to be different from the current one and I am very curious as to what its like. I am trying to find a differnt job that will be more flexible with hours and closer to CLC. Thanks for your info too!

HI Loyolagirl,
I received an 87 for the nln, it's so nerveracking because it all depends on who else is screeing with high scores or low scores. Good luck to you! Hope I can make it for the Spring too.

It's probably good that you don't take micro with your nursing. I just finished micro in the spring, was very hard. Who is your instructor going to be?
I am hoping to start 2010 spring. I thought I did miserable on my nln b/c I really didn't get to finish verbal but just got my score and I got 98%. Science and math saved me. I am just waiting to take certification exam for my CNA. Will be taking A&PI and psyII this fall.

I am just so excited now that I might get in the program I'm antsy. I really thought that I might have to take nln at least couple of times.
