Before getting an app, I'd rather see Allnurses use vBulletin instead of this forum format. Everything is so cluttered around here... and if they switch to vBulletin forums, they can use the tapatalk app (available on both android and iphone) to streamline the forums through phones easily.

even making a mobile version of the forums would be very helpful, and would be more accessible to all phones/pdas/what-have-you, not just iphones.

Agreed! Don't forget about the Android devices. Also, most of the time there are templates that can be installed for websites/message boards that are formatted specifically for mobile devices. (I support a good number of websites as my BS was in computing and security technologies so I know a good amount about website admin.)

When I go on Allnurses through my iPod Touch I get the regular forum ads, plus a banner ad at the bottom. It literally makes the forum impossible to use because it loads ridiculously slowly and is all ads. Is this something Allnurses purposefully enabled? Some sort of bug?

Suspect the ads are how AllNurses affords to support a community of thousands of members without making everyone pay for their memberships. There are a lot of ads because I'm sure the amount of server space needed to house this many threads (10+ years worth!) is pretty costly, and ads help pay for it.

That was the first thing I looked for on my iPhone when I joined allnurses-to see if they had an app. I have been thinking about it for a while, so I laughed when I saw this thread.

But if I view it on the 15 inch monitor on my computer screen, I get the regular ads. That's fine. It's perfectly readable. If I view it on my 3 inch iPod touch screens, all of those regular ads are present, plus the iAds, making it completely unreadable. It's not that the ads bother me, but they do when I'm seeing double them on a 10 inch smaller screen.
