Wanting to become a Hospice Nurse. Need Advice.

by Lyndis

Hello, everyone. My name is Jade, and I am 19 years old. Becoming a hospice nurse is a dream of mine, and I just needed some advice as to where I should start. I was homeschooled through my high school years, and I was looking to pursue a college education in nursing. At this moment, I have very limited access to a vehicle, so I was considering online classes throughout the week, with campus education two-three times a week, preferably. I just needed to know, is this the course of action I should be taking to get into hospice nursing? Or is there some other route I should be going?

Also, being homeschooled, I wasn't sure if I needed to go for my GED, or how I should go about doing that. I spoke with someone at Lanier Tech (in Cumming, GA), and they told me that a GED would suffice to get into the nursing classes at their campus. I wanted to double-check this. I didn't want to sell myself short, you know?

Any advice would be great. Thank you!
