Is my license at risk working at a hospice office?

I started my first job as a new grad at a hospice agency working QA and auditing charts. After a week of orientation, I'm now expected to audit charts and flag COPs, violations, innconsistencies in charting, etc. Now another RN that is auditing charts told me I'm expected to correct the COPs because they are up for recertification and a surveyor will be coming sometime in Oct/Nov.I'm really confused by this- isn't editing the charts illegal? I have already found many violations/COPs in the two charts I have gone through. If the COPs arent corrected the agency will likely be shut down. If they are shut down would my RN license be on the line, even if I am just an office worker?Thank you!

Your liability will be determined by what they are asking you to augment within the record.

Know you nurse practice act and the scope of practice for your state. Fall back on your education regarding additions to legal documentation that you did not author.

Good luck.
