Okay I have an Interview with a company that does Hospice care tomorrow. I am wondering what questions might be asked. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also any suggestions for a successful interview would be greatly appreciated. I have always gotten excellent advice from everyone on allnurses and am looking foward to your advice and input. Thank you in advance for your help.

These are some of the questions I was asked during my interview:

Give an example of when you cared for a pt from a different culture, and what you did to accomodate him/her?

Give an example of when you made a mistake.

How would you answer when a pt asked you about your personal belief system (ie: religion)?

Name a time when you feel you "crossed boundaries" with a pt.

Why do you want to be a hospice nurse?

My own advice: DON'T ASK ABOUT SALARY!

I told the recruiter at the end of the interview that I wasn't in this for the money, that I really wanted to take care of terminally ill pts. She said that when people ask about salary/benefits before a job offer, she usually does not hire them.

Good luck to you!!!

Best,

Diane, RN

I was just reading your post and know that now it has been months since you had your interview, but wanted to respond because I have an interview for a Hospice position at a major hospital here and it is for case management mainly in homecare.

If you remember any questions you were asked or have some insight now on the question you posted- I would so love to hear your thoughts?
