Wow! You sure are going through a lot right now. I can't even begin to imagine what you are feeling. I will definitely say a prayer for your hubby tonight. It's situations like this that make you grateful for everyday that we are given. Everyday is truly a gift from God. It's so easy to get caught up in the everday "grind" of life, but it's important that we take a step back and enjoy it because things can change so quickly. You hang in there and take care of yourself.

Welcome to day 18 of the saga. His platelet count is 20,000, so too low to do the trach at 11am today. They are going to continue to transfuse in hopes of getting it up to 50,000 because doc really wants him to have the trach today. This is day 16 of being on the vent with an ET tube. Also, his liver function really stinks today. We were just talking yesterday about how amazing it is that his liver has held up because he already has cirrhosis. But I believe she said his AST was 3000. Yikes! I don't see how they will get his platelets up in the face of these obstacles. He has been receiving blood products of every type daily since the surgery. They have been getting 95cc per hour out of his JP drain. He has so much fluid overload that he is oozing from every site. Tough day. Thanks everybody.

Adding my thoughts and prayers to everyone else's. God is truly mighty and He will always be there for you and your little girl. God bless you and your DH, as well as your sweet little girl. You don't say whether she has been to see her Daddy, but I know God is walking beside her with His hand is hers to help her through this hard time, that she is so young to try and understand about.
