by arkiebarbie Feb 2I am a 42 yr old I will have my pre-reqs done this semester and will be applying to the ADN and BSN programs. Do hospice agencies prefer BSN over ADN? Currently I am a CNA in a dementia unit and have found the hospice nurses I have come in contact with inspiring. Advice will be greatly appreciated. I live in North east Arkansas. I posted this question on the Arkansas site as well but have not had a response.

- Feb 2 by tewdlesIt will depend upon the hiring agencies...
BSN is a good idea if you have the time and finances, it will serve you better in the long run of your career. - Feb 5 by RipeTomatoI got hired with an ADN, but am currently (and at time of hire) enrolled in a BSN program. I don't know if that helped me or not.
- Feb 7 by hospicelI'm a medical recruiter and hire RNs for Hospice positions. Our Hospice clients are asking for folks with a BSN, but will allow 5 years from the date of hire to get one. They partner with a community college (takes a year) and they help with the costs of tuition. I think it's a great idea to get one now if you can. Good luck!
- Feb 8 by db2xsQuote from hospicelWhere are you located? I was told hospices won't hire if you don't have at least one to two years of acute care experience.
