I am new to home health. I just signed on a patient who recieved radiation treatment to his sacral area. He has a wound around 7 small it looks like stage 1 wounds. What is the best way to treat this problem?
He was discharge from the hospital with Alldress. Thank you.

Dear Alcwiek. the best thing to do is hyperbaric oxygen treatment...but if that is not available near you ...then try the gel-pad dressings...here we have flexigel...a thin cool pad of hydrogel...if you refridgerate them then it will feel cool to the patients burn...we have a patient with a radiation burn on his foot. Since the burn you mention is a stage one then this should work quite well. the thicker the gelpad the better...
