PSA healthcare "Assessment Center"

Specialties Home Health

Published

After getting a few months experience in the hospital I decided to try for a PRN job with PSA healthcare. I put in my application and was sent an email stating that they don't have traditional interviews (which I expected from prior replies to threads on PSA) but this assessment center thing and to "feel free to bring a friend along". What does the assessment center entail? I got a bit from the video, but should I study prior to this assessment center? All replies are appreciated!

I had one of these "interviews" after applying for a position with PSA healthcare. They show you a video and then you take a test. The test is really easy, mostly patient safety and CPR. After the test they gave everyone present a job offer and contract to sign on the spot (at least in my case). In the end I didn't take the job because I felt there was to little orientation/training.

Specializes in ER, Med-surg.

Thanks schoolnurse64! how long ago did you interview with PSA. I've talked with the DON at this branch and we've talked about my schedule and stuff already along with how much training I'll get.

How long is the training and what are they offering you as far as pay?!

Not much in way of pay. $4 less/hr than I make at the hospital. But I figure it's worth it for the peds experience. 1 12 hr shift of training per pt. More PDN than skilled visits.
