Maxim Healthcare Company

by 4valeri

Any thoughts on this company? I had them send me app packet this week, looking for some per diem work.I know they have companies all over the country. Thought this might be a good way to check out some other areas of the country! Anyone have any experience with them? I am here in syracuse NY!

I've worked for Maxim and like others have experienced the good and the bad. In general, they are a good company to work for. It is an advantage that they have offices throughout the nation. The key is in establishing and maintaining a good working relationship with your office staff. But this is the key in working with any agency (or should be, sometimes you have to be related to the boss). You can find several comments and threads about Maxim's home health and staffing division on this site. They also have a travel division known as Travelmax. I would recommend trying them out. And I have to agree that the friendliness and concern of the office personnel was a bonus for me. Most of the time, the internal employees I worked with showed a genuine interest in patients and employees. It was a pleasure to take my paperwork to the office.

Nice. Sounds very much like my agency, although not Maxim, but a privately run agency. Our folks all work together well.. office and nurses all work together as a team. I like that a lot. That's the way it SHOULD be.

Guess some agencies don't seem to have that teamwork aspect, from what I read here. That's really too bad.

After I reported to them of an illegal activity that they were doing within 24 hours they took me off of my schedule and that was a friday at 6 pm. The following monday they fired me stating outrageous claims against me. They are a very scummy agency to work for. The offices in Miami are all run by kids who have no degree in the medical profession. Believe me when I say that be careful if you decide to work for this company.
Ditto-where I used to work, there were several investigations for Medicaide fraud and malpractice (clueless nurse let Vent kid die),,,

what part of the country did you work in? There is a forum under www.indeed.com for Maxim go there and read what they have said about them under there. You will be very surprised at how open they are about what the company has been doing.

hi,

I've recently started working at Maxim for home health. (I'm an LPN)
And I've had a great experience with them so far.
The staff is very accomidating, they have worked around the hours I said I can work, and look for more hours when I say I can. and the fellow nurses I share my duties with are very friendly and helpful to a first timer with home health.

Like others have said, it must depend on the office you work at, because while Maxim is a national company, it's offices function independantly. My office has a very good staff of recruiters and DON's and case managers. The only hang up is that my direct deposit didn't get recieved from payroll...which means I've had to physically pick up and deposit my checks, not fun since the office is 35 miles away from my home, and it makes me behind on bills while I wait for it to clear...ahhh...sorry I just had to get that out.

But Maxim seems like a great place to work, so far. For me, it's the best job I've ever had.

I appologize to everyone who's had a bad expeirence with Maxim.I've come off a job where I had a physician who liked to breathe down the nurses necks for 8 hours about every blessed thing, so I know what it's like to work somewhere where you're unhappy.

But having said that I wouldn't discougage anyone from wanting to work at Maxim,
it really depends on the people you fall in with at the company.
Don't freak over what is written in message boards, people are just venting. It's like getting an icecream cone and finding out it's half melted as you're eating it, they won't all turn out that way.
If you get a good office you'll do fine.

good luck everyone.
