job interview

Specialties Home Health

Well, the time has come to possibly do the nursing I have wanted to do! I know the pitfalls of paperwork etc., have had friends who have worked in HH and told me about it, and I just have to finally do it. I am the kind of person who loves one to one care and teaching, and I am excited about my interview. I have done home health nursing as an aide but not an RN.

Can anyone share tips for the interview? (I actually think my new supervisor and interviewer might be a girl from my high school graduating class, 20 years ago!) But I am not sure.

I really want this position and want to make a good first impression!

Thanks and nice to meet you all! (I am new to the bulletin board).

My Christmas wish!

Specializes in everything!!.

Well, got the news and they are offering me the job! Great news!

I have done a search of the site, but didn't find that much info....I was looking for any good home health books for new HH nurses, preferably one that I can carry with me (if possible)....Anyone know of any good ones?

Thanks all! Paula

Ask them to buy you or get the little white book from briggs that explains the MOO tags of OASIS. Very small but helpful for nurses new to the data collection tool. Runs around 19.00. That is what I got for all my new nurses. Are you going to accept?

Best of luck to you in your new job......... there is also a book titled "What Every Home Health Nurse Needs To Know" by Marjorie McHann.............. it has been updated a few times to include OASIS now........... hope it helps!

Good to hear you were offered the job. All the best.

Hi Paula I sent you a pm about starting. Hope the ideas are of some help.

I had an interview at a home health agency this past week. It went very well and the job sounded just like what I have been waiting for. The pay was a little less than in the hospital, but I wasn't concerned about that. The problem...the insurance was terrible. If insurance is a factor for you, be sure to get all the info you can on it before accepting a position with a home health agency.

I know our insurance where I worked was horrible as well.
