I have no HH experience, but I was an ICU RN for five years, and a paramedic for six. I was just offered a position with a large HH agency with contracts in several local hospitals. It's pay per visit, with SOC base pay at 60.00, routine is 40.00 and discharge is 50.00. Completing paperwork on time adds a 10.00 bonus. Weekends add another 25.00 on top of that, and during evenings on call if I need to visit a patient, then it's another 55.00 on top of everything. They provide a gas card, iPad and cell phone. I'm in the suburbs of Chicago. Is this a pretty good offer? There are benefits, but I don't need them. Thanks in advance for helping!

I think it sounds low, but maybe things are different in NY.

Sounds low to me. I live in Eastern Pennsylvania. Closest large City is an hour plus away. I get SOC $75, visit $40 and $40 for a dc. Figure a SOC is twice to 3x the time of a visit.

I can't compare our California wages but our SOC rates are double the routine rate, recerts are 1 1/2 the routine rate.

Do you guys get bonuses on top of that for paperwork and stuff, or are those flat rates? I'm just trying to figure out if it's worth it. My hospital job pays 31.34/hr and I'm trying to transition out of ICU, but employers keep trying to put me back in it. I would love love love to be out there on my own every day. I'm somewhat of an introvert, although ICU has helped me learn to effectively communicate. Thanks in advance for your help with this. I'm just clueless how home health works regarding pay.

I don't get bonus but SOC is 120$

And gosh darn it it's still not enough!
