Interview with Home Health Agency!!!

I have an interview with a home health agency on Thursday! I am so excited as I have wanted to make the move to home health for a while now. My background is in ER and Med-surg for 3 years about 2 years ago. The last 2 years I have been a resident care director at an ALF. I want to get back to more hands-on clinical care. What questions should I ask in the interview?

Default Re: Interview with Home Health Agency!!!
Distinguish with the interviewer whether you want to do extended care (shift work or continuous care) or intermittent visits. Big difference. They may offer one type of home health work but not the other. Ask about their plans to orient you. For extended care you should be able to get as much orientation as it takes to make you feel comfortable to start on a particular case. If you will be doing intermittent visits, ask what the productivity goal is, what the mileage rate is, are you given office time (paid) to do documentation, are you required to be on call. Do you get perks like a company car (yes, some give this), cell phone, and/or laptop for documentation? For that matter, do they use laptops for documentation or will you be doing paper documentation? If you go back and do some reading on the forum you can come up with some other pertinent questions that I can't think of right now. Good luck with your interview.
