Home Health Salary

Hello all!!!

I have a potential job offer at a pretty large HH agency (I have my second interview next week), the position is in peds home health and I would serve as a case manager, the company is still working out details as far as case load and time requirements. What I do know is that the position is part-time with a strong potential to become full-time and is SALARIED but I am curious if pay comes up in this next interview what would be a ballpark amount that I should be expecting (I am in the Southeast).

I am new to home health and have no clue what pay would be although I am assuming it should be pretty decent considering this is a "Clinical Supervisor" aka case management position. Plus, if the position goes full-time and is a good fit for me and the company than I need pay to be equal if not a little better than my current staff position (which is HOURLY not SALARIED) in the hospital. Thanks in advance : )

I very recently saw such a position advertised for $28 to $30 an hour, although I don't remember the area. I know the company and believe that you could probably add some to that because that company is known for low pay, at least for the external employees.

Thanks for the quick response. I wil definitely take those numbers in to account when salary comes up... that pay is actually better than my staff position, I am very surprised to say the least but almost puzzling!! :D (plus i found similar numbers on salary.com)

All depends on where you are located. I started out as clinical manager position at $60,000/yr salary to start but I am in central florida where pay in any field is low.

I am in Georgia and to be more specific it is a Clinical Supervisor position @ Maxim. I am just looking for feedback since I do not want to "sell myself short" but also I have no experience so I am not sure as to what would be a good starting salary. Thanks :)

Maxim is the company that is known for low pay. In my area, they are the lowest paying agency and attract only the nurses who can not find work elsewhere. You would do well to find work with a better agency unless this is an act of desperation to be followed by a continued job search.

What are some agencies that pay better? And thanks for the info.? Are you in the southeastern U.S. too if you don't mind me asking?

Not in your area. But the reputation of Maxim is pretty uniform across the nation. Check them out on the forums at http://www.indeed.com or http://www.jobvent.com. You will also find plenty of negative input on this site. Almost any agency that is local will be your best bet for better pay. If your city has a Bayada agency, they have a consistently good reputation.

wow, i would run from the "salaried part time position" you described, you are lining yourself up to be taken advantage of and disappointed. basically what they're looking to do, is hook you at a pt salary rate, but eventually you will be doing lots more work, ft work for pt pay. that's the ft potential they're taking about.

the only way to protect yourself, is to have a contract stating the max number of cases and/or hours you'll work for the pt salary.

home health agencies are notorious for pay abuses.
