About 6 months ago I had a bit of an upheaval in my life causing pretty much EVERYTHING to change, including leaving my SNF job of almost 8 years. I took a few months off, and then got a job in home health and just have to say...

WHERE has this job been all my life?? Seriously the funnest job ever! Just thought I'd share.

Best kept secret.

:) you must having a good experience with home health nursing.

I have been thinking about home health nursing lately.

I think I would like the one and one care in home health.

I was wondering, Can a nurse with hospital experience start as a case manager in home health field?

Or, do I need to start from the staff position in home health first?

thanks.

I agree! I really enjoy my job, my coworkers, my patients.

If you have hospital experience, they will snap you up in a second. Most people that work home care, case manage (esp if you work full time). If you work PRN some agencies don't let you case manage, some do. Good luck!!

I actually DON'T have hospital experience, and my boss was initially a little wary of hiring me because of that. She said she had never hired anyone in home health or hospice without med surg experience. Thankfully she gave me a chance!
