Home Health Agencies, Westchester County, NY

Hello everyone,

I was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions for companies to apply at to get into Home Health Nursing in Westchester County, NY.

I have 17 months experience in a Medical ICU. I've tried VNS of Westchester but they won't hire me because they require 2 years nursing experience. I've applied to Maxim and they said they would forward my email to the local branch and I'd hear from them if they had anything open; I haven't heard from them since. I'm in the process of getting my physical and drug screening requirments met for Interim Healthcare (they require that BEFORE they'll even interview you). I tried DaVita's Home Hemodialysis program, but they said they require dialysis experience.

Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!

Thanks,

Sue

Look in the yellow pages under home health care or nurses registries. Or do an internet search for your area to see if there are any other agencies operating in your area. Also look for home health jobs on one of the employment web sites, such as www.indeed.com or www.craigslist.org.
