Downsized in IND, thinking HH in Rural Colorado

The crash of the auto industry has affected HH in this auto dependent city. I was laid off in June as HH RN, but was able to transfer to an office position.. just so I'd have income. The position is an LPN position....I am paid LPN wages. The company uses my expertise, refuses to pay for it. As the upper management stated, "If she doesn't want to do as we want, we'll find someone else would will".
This HH company is the most deceitful, under handed company I have ever worked for. My office has suffered two lay offs in 18 months, we are literally a skeleton staff. The majority of us are in our 50's, too old to start 12 hrs on the floor, even if the hospital was hiring. Ohhhh...I am rambling on.

My inquiry... how is the HH needs in rural Colorado? Colorado is the place of my pioneer heritage, I am thinking of heading west. Does anyone recommend one company over another? There must be a need somewhere for nurses in the rural areas?
