Desperate for Home Health Study Info

Hi All,

I'm attempting to make a change from Hospital to Home Health nsg. I'm an RN with many years Med/Surg hospital experience. Also have been in Home Health about 10yrs ago. I'm scheduled next week to apply and interview at a local agency. I'll be given a nsg exam also. Does anyone know how I can get some study material for the exam? I tend to freeze up when given a test, so want to be as prepared as I can!!
Any suggestions would be appreciated!
Thanks,
Ron

if you have that many years in Med/surg experience you should ACE the test. Make sure you remember the important findings:PT/INR limits, K+ levels, etc.

When you get the job, because I'm sure you will, make sure that you get hired with a company that is willing to TRAIN you. There are so many "rules" about home health. I learned a lot from trial and error. Take your time, don't rush to get out on your own. A good company will be happy with doing that. In the long run it will save them time and $$

Good luck and keep us posted. You'll be enjoying the fun flexible life of HH nursing.

With your experience you should have no problem. They ask the basics. Insulin timing, lasix, check HR before digoxin, etc. Good luck. Hope you find that you like hh.

Take a drug book and a calculator.
