Please help me! I am considering accepting a position as a live-in nursing assistant (40 hours a week) in Chicago, taking care of an elderly patient with dementia. I normally do hospital (Tele-Critical Care) work. What should I expect for a rate of pay? I am sure I probably cannot expect them to pay into my social security or to provide health insurance, so should I expect more per hour? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! Also, I do have LTC experience as well as lots of experience w/ sundowners's and poor perfusion/confusion/agitation issues- I am good at dealing with those. Just no live-in experience since I worked as a nanny about 20 years ago.
