Systemic Formulas

Have any of you heard of this? http://www.systemicformulas.com/

A chiropractor that I take my son to uses these formulas to detox my son's system. More specifically, he uses something called "nutrascan" to test his urine and saliva for chemicals, bacterias, fungi, mold, viruses, pesticides, dyes..etc and then he uses systemic formulas to pull that stuff out.

My son has severe behavior problems...and instead of risking that his liver will be toast when he is 40 because of years of psychotropic use (he's on risperdal)...I decided to try alternative meds. This doctor found all kinds of stuff in his system...including known neuro toxins.

Just a little testimony....since my son has been on this regime the past 3 months (and he is only on some of the supplements because I could not afford all of them), he has not been sick once. This was a kid that ALWAYS had a snotty nose, cough, sore throat, fever, whatever....

Anyone's thoughts?

Michelle, as a Native Healer I use Herbs to help heal. Alot of todays medicines come from plants. The medicine companies actualy have people all over the world researching various plant to try to find cures to todays ailments. Sometimes it is better to use natural medicines to help treat and cure certain sicknesses. Just remember this is only my opinion.

There is a good book on "excitotoxins" I read as an elective (only one or three books for the class) in either my BS/MS classes. I learned alot and have seen some of the things your talking about both in the book and in my patient load through my disease management job. I have seen some good and some bad results with treatments and testing of this nature. I would not rule out "liver safety" when talking about supplements. I have had one patient destroy his liver taking things of this nature. How often are you having someone checking liver and renal function studies as well as a CBC?

Nativehealer, systemic formulas ARE made from herbs.

Renerian, he's only been on these supplements about 3-4 months. I haven't had any blood work yet because I haven't been able to get insurance...however we're covered starting January 1 and will be getting him checked then. He is actually on a liver detox formula with liver support.

I was sure that someone would have heard of these supplements.

The needle on my Quack-O-Meter is starting to tremble. I suspect you're thinking about this too since you're seeking verification of what this chiropractor is recommending. You should do some investigation on your own of your son's medical condition, alternative therapies for it, herbal remedies, and allergies. Chiropractors are supposed to be treating illness through the manipulation of the bones. Your state law for chiropractors should be very clear on this.

Here is the site. www.systemicformulas.com

The company won't even sell these formulas to anyone that is NOT a doctor.

Not necessarily. I was just wondering if anyone has heard of these supplements.

If any of you are interested in reading more about this doc...send me a pm and I will send you a link to his website. If the admins don't deem that inappropriate.

Just to repeat myself....my son has not been sick one time in almost 4 months now since starting these supplements. This was a child that had something at least every couple of weeks. I was a little suspicious at first (but thought I would try it because I will try almost anything to help my son) but after seeing him healthy...something is going right. How can it not be? I just pray that it will evetually help his behavior, too.

I just saw your messages about these formulas and I am currently considering going to a chiropractor who also uses these formulas. I was wondering how it was turning out with you. Chiropractors very frequently are able to practice with many other types of modalities. I'm not sure how that works but it is common. I myself don't like chiropracty at all and wouldn't get that myself but I do think these herbs, supplements, whatever they are can be very helpful. I have taken them before with a nutritionist and still would be except for the cost. So I was wondering if you would also give me some idea about that. Thanks very much

My son was having ticks and small seizures at 9 months old and I went to several doctors with no luck. For some reason, my son would not have his episodes in the doctors' office and the doctors would not keep him for observation.

I decided to do my own research. I found a nutritionist friend who worked with both the herbal supplements systemic formulas and standard process. It is a long story that includes implementing a partial ketogenic diet, but after chelation therapy (using the systembic formulas) my son showed no signs of ANY ticks or seizures after that.

I have since been using systemic formulas through an authorized practitioner to also help with my son's chronic colds, ear infection and general malaise with MUCH success.

I know the medical community does not look to supplements as a viable option for many reasons. The main reason is that it just has not been studied the same way we study about symptom/diagnosis/treatment. There are cases of where people have been injured using these supplements, but in many of those cases (that are cited) it is when a patient was not using the supplement as directed.

The same with drugs, supplements are powerful and can only be used as directed. However (whole food) supplements are from sources that are from the earth, which means there are little side effects, as they were not manufactured using synthetic materials...as drug often are. So the side effects, unless grossly misused, are minimal.

Keep in mind that the drugs supported by the medical field also tout many side effects and even death, so it is 6 of one; half dozen of the other.

I would rather treat my sons whole body and take care of the root of the problem than give him something to mask a symptom. It takes longer and it requires change in environment and diet as well, but it is worth it.

Keep up the quest. There is a lot of help for you online, should you continue to pursue alternative medicine. Over 40% of the American population started using alternative medicine last year. If more of us try it, not only will our children get better, but we will create a demand for more of a holistic approach to medicine...and have the best of both worlds, so it is a win win situation.

Keep searching.
