Holistic NP jobs?

by vetiver

I am beginning nursing school next fall after a change of careers. I really, really want to be an NP with training in holistics and nutrition, maybe even herbalism/homeopathy...but how do you get ACCREDITED training in holistic medicine?
My husband is a locum tenens recruiter for NP's and MD's. He says that if recruiters or employers see anything "holistic" on a CV, they toss it. How can I get this education without hurting my chances of employment?!
I guess it all depends on where you live...
Any thoughts?

I'm interested in this, too. If anyone has any ideas, please share.

My advice would be to just become a regular NP and use the holistic techiniques in your practice and market yourself as such.

Once you get your NP, you'd probably be better off looking for a medical practice that is 'holistic-friendly', than being hospital staff.

As for as training, there a few nurse related holistic training, but honestly, just look for the best herbology training versus the best nurse-herbology training. Same thing for aromatherapy or any other holistic modality you wish to use.

This avoids you paying possibly inflated prices for courses that may not be comprehensive as a regular course.
