Thank you for the advice. I ordered the McGraw-Hill book because it was only 10.00 and that will be a goiod start to studying. The flash cards were 40.00 and maybe later on I will get those, or maybe there will be another used one cheaper on amazon.

What other rescources have folks used?

I will call the school and ask about what portions they test on: good tip! Thanks so much.

I took the Hesi on Friday April 27th. I used everything from YouTube videos to study guides online and quizlet. I found the vocab hard majority of the vocab words in the book was not on the test.

I just took the HESI on April 30. I took it at the end of my A&P II semester, two days after the lab final and a week before the lecture final. Because of that timing, I did not spend much time studying A&P specifically for the HESI, but rather was depending on the studying and learning I had done for my class finals. The A&P questions on the HESI were random. I knew some and didn't know others. If you recently took Anatomy and Physiology, you will probably be ok. If not, you will have to brush up. Again, the questions were really random and therefore require a broad/general knowledge of the subject.

I spent several days before the exam working out math problems. I used the Evolve exam review. I made sure I knew how to do all the types of problems in that guide and that was sufficient. So, if you have no difficulty with working out the problems in the review book, you will most likely do well on the HESI math portion.

I did not study for vocabulary, except for glossing over some vocab lists. I also did not study for the reading comprehension. I did read through the exam review about grammar, but I did that the night before the test. The vocab, reading and grammar sections were relatively easy. I did not have to take the biology section or any other science besides A&P.

I suggest picking the parts of the exam you are most worried about and do them first. I had four hours to do the whole test. I thought each section was individually timed. But it wasn't. In the end, I finished in about 1 hr 45 min, the bulk of which was spent meticulously doing math problems—even the "easy" ones.

Good luck to all who are taking it! You will feel great when it is behind you and you have done well! It's a wonderful relief.

I am a returning student with family and health-unrelated career so it is a challenge.... but today I have taken the HESI entrance test and passed Yay! Yay! Yay! Yay!
My average for all 5 required sections at Broward College (Reading Comprehension, Vocabulary, Grammar, Anatomy & Physiology, and Math) was 98%.

I hope to pass these along as the following helped tremendously, in addition to studying day and night for about 1 week, but also getting enough rest and eating right as well as supplementing with extra vitamins lol!:

    ~ The Elsevier book.

~ http://caring4you.net/Hesi_StudyGuide.pdf read thoroughly and did the self-tests to know exactly what I was lacking and how to do it, math fractions/percentages, even includes Reading Comprehension, Vocabulary, and more! I thank God for Anneliese Garrison, RN at caring4you.net for the West Coast University HESI Study Guide!!

~ HESI A2 vocab flashcards | Quizlet Vocabulary - took the "test" multiple times and found that this along with others at quizlet (just type HESI A2 in the search box) was beneficial... such as Measurement conversions flashcards | Quizlet for conversions, etc. See another: Testing Endocrine System - HESI | Quizlet

~ "+(dtit.length>0?decodeURIComponent(dtit.charAt(0) .toUpperCase()+dtit.substr(1)):"Practice Test")+" helped with metric conversion and it is timed (good practice for quick thinking during test)

~ Solving Percent Problems - YouTube Percentages were a bit tricky for me so I absolutely adored this guy's method for learning it BxR=P. Then .... Percent and Ratio Practice Questions Practiced with these! Answers are at the bottom of the page.

Hope this helps someone out there.

Would you happen to know what was covered on the A&P section? Was it more towards the Endocrine System such as hormones and glands? How did you prepare for the section? Your score is amazing so you must be doing something right.
