Advice on Preparing for HESI A2 Exam?

Hello everyone! I am VERY new to the nursing scene, as I just decided to switch my major from Elementary Education about two weeks ago! Because of this last minute decision, I have to take the HESI on Friday (the very last available time on the last day to be accepted for the fall, I might add), and I've only known about it for a week! To say that I am nervous would be an understatement.

I have researched quite a bit and have been using apps, as well as some awesome Quizlet cards, to study A&P and mathematic conversions mostly, as those are my weakest areas (coming from Journalism and Education majors, English-related things are easier for me), but I'd appreciate ANY tips that I can get.

The school that I am applying for said, "Please focus on Reading Comprehension, Anatomy & Physiology and Math." That's all I really know, though.

Hello I think your on the right track as far as study material. I have been using quizlet and if you have not already try and get the hesi admission study guide edition 3.

I am taking the hesi in 6 days and the math portion is what scares me the most. I have been using the 2nd edition hesi study guide and taking some practice tests online. Anyone with suggestions who has taken it????

The hesi a2 math literally is pretty much the same as the evolve hesi exam book! If you have been studying that you will be fine!!

Dont stress out about the HESI. All in all I found it to be quite easy. The math part was very basic math/applied math. What I found the hardest was actually the Grammar portion. I studied a HESI study book I bought at the college book store for about 6 hours and I got a 90. If you were a decent student in High School and pulled decent grades on your pre reqs you WILL be fine.

I made 100% on the math portion of the HESI. The only math study tool I used was the Elsevier guide, 3rd edition.

I completed all of the practice problems--every single one. It took a little while, but HESI math is all about little details. Rushing through and making a computational mistake can cost you valuable points. The cure for these mistakes is practice, practice, practice!

Good luck on your exam! HESI math is not difficult--it might just require a little refresher since you've probably encountered all of it at one time or another in your classes. Do some practice problems and you will be fine :up:

As most have already mentioned the best option is to review the quizlet flashcards and take a look through the evolve guide. I used the 2nd edition since it was cheaper and did just fine on all portions (my school required math, reading, vocab, chem, a and p, biology, critical thinking) of the hesi. I spent a total of 4 to 6 hours cumulatively prepping for the exam. It most certainly is nothing to be worried about.

I am also taking the hesi in about a week 3/1/13 and im so nervouse beyond beliefe. My weakest subject is math by far and the school that i am applying to requires reading, math, grammer so im wondering what types of math questions is on the hesi?

Hello. I took my Hesi Exam yesterday. The math was very basic. I studied from the Hesi Evolve 2nd edition. Pretty much everything in the math section was on the test. Plenty of ratios, factions, some conversion. The book is also good for reading, and grammar. Good Luck

Math is basic so do not worry. I can tell you study conversions,fractions,proportions def,and decimals all basic. and also word problems. it is dooable I pased and already recieved my acceptance letter.
