Transcendental Meditation (TM)

Nurses Stress 101

Published

I've been doing much research on Transcendental Meditation ™, and have read the full spectrum of online reviews and opinions from both its supporters and detractors. I've also seen the numerous studies published in peer-reviewed literature.

I know no TM practitioners (or ex-practitioners) personally, so I have no firsthand accounts or experiences; I'm hoping you'll share yours. Granted, I don't "know" you either -- but I have a certain level of respect for the allnurses crowd. ;)

Many thanks for anything you may care to share!

Thank you for the links. May I ask for your personal experiences or thoughts on TM?

Yes, you may. It will clear your head and stabilize your mood and your outlook about life, and help cure almost any ail you have, in one way or another. If you do it routinely, you'll find yourself able to tune out much of the 'noise' around you.

Even if you just sit alone in a dark room and contemplate quietly. No equipment needed. But I highly recommend listening to the eternal om, or some other amazing music- there are scads of variations available. Might also want to check into yoga, if you haven't- it's really just amazing, for body and mind. If you want to, look on Craiglist, or at a local yoga studio to find a group of like-minded folks that will teach you all about TM, and yoga, and other similar activities.

Namaste. Loosely translated: "The light within me ackowledges the light within you."

Ommmmmmmm......

Interesting. Did you go through the "official" TM training channel (Maharishi Foundation) or learn the technique elsewhere?
