I know this probably doesn't belong in this forum... stress relief needed

but...since I spend so much time in the prenursing forum I figured I would gripe in here anyway! I'm frustrated...I'm sure you have seen it all over the news, the army got extended 3 months, and I just got confirmation that my husband will definitely be in Iraq for 15 months total (another 7 months to go now), which also means that we will COMPLETELY miss each other when I start nursing school in the fall. He originally was supposed to be home in July/August and I was going to leave for school in September, but now I will leave for school and he won't get back until Novemberish. We decided that the easiest way for me to plan nursing school was to just go back to live with my mom since we have no idea where we are going next, and applying is very hard if you don't know where you are going or when! He's been really supportive but this is just making it hard. He absolutely wants me to pursue this and he doesn't want me to put it off because he doesn't think it is fair to me, but it is really kind of upsetting to him to know he will come back after 15 months to an empty house....and that is a horrible feeling to me. I am still going to go to school, and we will work it out, I just wanted to complain a bit, so thanks everyone in advance! I know we signed up for this since we are in the military, and I totally understand that this can happen, but sometimes it just sucks!!

Bless your husband for his service to our country. And to
both of you for all of your sacrifices.

Stay with your plan to pursue nursing, it is a great career and
you can work anywhere in whatever concentration you are
interested in.

Try to nurture yourself and take up some non academic interests
as well. Develop yourself as a person, and take care of your health.

Your husband will need lots of love and support both during his
tour and when he returns home.

Good luck with your nursing school studies!

Our thoughts and prayers are with you both for strength during this
time.

Thanks for your kind words NRSKarenRN and jahra! I am a pretty busy person and I have realized how important it is for my well-being! The first year long deployment in 2004 was easier in some ways, this time around seems to be a little more taxing for the both of us. We'll get through it though. I appreciate your advice and prayers!
