Hi... my name is Mercy and I'm addicted to marinated red peppers. Seriously. I ate an entire jar of them in one sitting at lunch. Not for the first time, either, I must say. Good thing they're healthy, bad thing they're expensive!
Do you have to pay for that in the "end"? ha ha

There are worse things to love!

Well, bad news. I've kinda fallen off the wagon these past couple of weeks, but tomorrow will be a new day. A couple of days ago at work, one of the cafeteria women who was passing out lunch to the patients was moving her cart around and I moved out of the way in order for her to be able to pass. Well, the cart still came relatively close to me, especially my belly, and she said, "Oh, I have to be careful. I don't want to hurt the baby." Problem is, I'm not pregnant. She's probably the third person to say that to me since I've started working at my hospital. I can't stand it. The most annoying thing is that in order to make myself feel better about my self-esteem taking yet another blow is to eat. I can only try to give myself a push and do better than I have been lately. *sigh*

I hope everyone else is having a much better time, though.

Whoops. I forgot to post this: it's an article about how weight loss might be stressing us out. I hope you guys can see it. Let me know!

Mave, I can see it and relate. Being on a diet can really be stressful. I also understand that when I'm hurt, angry, depressed, or stress I'll turn to food and it's a vicious cycle. Hang in there!

Uggh I hate that - had a little kid once ask me when I was gonna have my baby. There was one time though I got a kick out of it. Back in my wild days, had a guy ask my landlady if I was pregnant. I had only gone out with him a few times and he was worried he was gonna be a daddy! Thought it served him right for ditching me the way he did. Don't have that problem anymore since I'm now celibate! Life is a lot easier that way Oh the days of youth and foolishness.

But anyway - that's extremely rude! I never dare say anything to a lady unless I hear from her own mouth that she's pregnant! But, if that is something that helps motivate you that's great. It did me when that kid said it!

It IS very stressful! That is probably part of my nervousness on the new job. And everyone is eating around me, and ordering out, etc. CONSTANTLY. They also provide us lunch if we want it! Yesterday was skabetti and I was too hungry to refuse it, sigh... hopefully evening's meals won't be as heavy. Or delicious. And I can just bring my own. (But it sure does save time and $ to just eat theirs! Sigh...)

I invented a new dish... to a cooked sweet potato, I add 2 ounces of soyrizo and a tablespoon of Greek yogurt. I don't know what vegans could use in place of the yogurt, but it isn't really necessary. This makes a great breakfast and keeps me full till lunch.

That sounds pretty interesting. What exactly is soyrizo? I would love to taste it. Where would I be able to buy it?

Soyrizo is meatless chorizo (chorizo is a pork sausage of Spanish/Portugese origin.) It is pretty readily available where I live, in San Diego County, but if you can't find it near you, you can buy it online- http://www.melissas.com/catalog/inde...D=642&info=Yes. I buy mine at Trader Joe's, which carries their own brand, but other brands are sold at health food stores and in some of the larger supermarkets. I like it a lot.

Now I've invented a new dessert. I wanted something I could have in one of my pretty dessert bowls and feel like I was having a real dessert... not a sugar free 40 calorie Fudgesicle. Don't get me wrong, I like sugar free 40 calorie Fudgesicles, but they just don't feel decadent. I used reduced fat Cool Whip mixed with a cup of fresh raspberries and topped it off with five small gingersnaps, crushed into crumbs. Yum!

Mercy, that probably one of those recipes that sounds gross but probably tastes good. But it sounds gross. LOL
