It's nice hearing how you guys are doing!

I AM wonderin if there is such thing as a low carb tangerine pie!!!! YEEPS that sounds good! lol!

Still doing all right in the food department, not so hot in the exercise dept but BOY YOU SHOULD SEE ME AT WORK! It is ALL physical (pant pant pant!) I would love for there to be such thing as a calorimeter to see how much I burn off!
My bil has been on Atkins for years. My sister makes him a low carb key lime pie using a nut crust and Splenda and I'm not sure what other substitutions. Have never tried it myself, but he seemed to enjoy it the night he had it when we were there.

Good luck Steph! I work with a girl who lost a lot of weight doing low carb. She said she went out of town and ate carbs and gains six pounds in two days this past weekend. She says maintaining the weight loss has been tough, but she exercises a lot and that helps.

Working overtime this week has put me in a diet and exercise funk this week, so I know I'm not loosing, but hopefully won't gain the weight I lost. We're having a part for our departing boss tomorrow. I'm making pasta (high carb) salad, but using olive oil and broccoli, so it's not all bad.

I love wheat pasta - Barilla PLUS. But my family does not.

So, I found Ronzoni Smart Pasta and it is high fiber and high calcium and my family has no idea . . .it tastes just like regular white pasta.

Bought myself a mountain bike. I finished putting most of it together I just need to put the pedals on and readjust the breaks. I also need to stop by the store and get an adjustable wrench because the one I have isn't big enough to tighten the handle bars. So hopefully tomorrow I'll get to ride it. I'm so excited.

I recently bought a 'hybrid' bike (fatter tires than road bike, lighter frame than mtn bike). I LOVE it!! Have had a lot of fun getting back into riding. I'm just doing little 30 min rides on paved bike paths, but there are a LOT of them around here to explore. It's my favorite sort of exercise!

I googled it . . . .Here is one zoe . . Splenda and nut crust.

    http://www.lowcarbluxury.com/recipes/recipe-cake07.html

Give me that "fell off the wagon" smilie again . . .. . I had most of my son's cinnamon roll this morning (it was to die for), then had some chips and salsa and just now had an ice cream sandwich . . .

I cleaned my husband's trailer, did 4 loads of his laundry including rugs, sheets, towels, etc. Then stopped by my son's house and cleaned his kitchen (typical kitchen of 20-something men). So, 4 hours of work vs. all those carbs . . . . .I think the carbs won.

    Back on track tomorrow.

Ugh - what a dedicated mom!

It's o.k. Steph....you feed your kid cinnamin rolls for breakfast (probably because you really want to eat it...busted! LOL) You clean your adult kids kitchen? Don't know if your dedicated or crazy.

I'm going to the gym this AM, but not weighing because I not only fell off the wagon.......I let the wagon go halfway around the world before I got back on.

I don't feed my kids cinnamon rolls on a regular basis - just a couple of times a year. This little coffee house tucked away in the cute little town where my husband's jobs are is just a fun experience. Folks from the Bay Area come up there to the lake and hang around the town all summer - funny to just sit and listen to the "big city" folks, with their laptops and funny looking little dogs.

As to my son - he and his friends don't care about living in a mess. I care - this is the first time I've cleaned the kitchen and he has lived there for months. I just couldn't stand it. Now, my oldest son is a bit better but when he had four roommates, his apt was a mess too.

I'm heading over to jog Tweety - we both need to get back on the wagon . .. . (I found some Smarties in the cupboard last night - left over from Halloween - and I ate about 6 rolls). :imbar

Yes, let's get back on the wagon. I did my gym thing yesterday. I finished up a lot of pasta salad I made for work the day before. I made way too much for a crew party. Wasn't the healthiest but I wasn't going to waste it either. Other than that, it was healthy eating for the day.

Didn't mean to sound judgemental, I would have told you "you don't like my mess, then you're not welcome in my house"....unless of course you were paying the bills. LOL What you essentially did was give him the message that a female/mother figure will always be there to clean up after him. His future wife is not going to like you for that. Cut those apron strings mom! wink

    What's a "smartie"?

Tweety we must have been on the same wagon.....lol I did so bad the last 2 weeks its unbeilvable. Back on today, though going to incorporate the low carb for dummies and calorie counting. I will eat lots of fruit and veggies, watch white sugar/flour, and make whole grain choices whenever I can. But I do not want to sit and count carb servings. I need to find something that I can stick with to make this a life changing style and not just another "diet".
