    Strong Stuff
When you exercise, your smart body recognizes the extra strain and tries to make sure your bones are strong enough to endure it, so weight-bearing exercises are best for building bone. We're talking about things like walking, climbing stairs, and lifting weights, as well as balancing exercises. Make sure you're getting enough calcium and vitamin D, too. Bones need those nutrients to build new bone. Use this online tool to see how much of each you should be getting.

Hey guys I just passed my first kidney stone. Anybody have that lovely experience before? Just wanting some advice on how to avoid having this happen again. I still have to get the stone analyzed to see what it's made of. I'm fairly overweight and have currently been working at taking some of it off (6 # so far). I'm hoping that (and just eating healthier in general) will keep the kidney stones at bay!
    Welcome Jackson!
Lotsa encouragement for weight loss to be found on this thread.
As for kidney stones - one nephrologist I used to know strongly discouraged the drinking of OJ, said it promoted more stones in those prone to them. Not sure if it is true or an old doc's equivalent of a wives tale. Remember what you paid for this advice.....

I am doing ok as far as my self care - exercise, eating, slow deep breathing (lol) - but had some L arm pain/"pins and needles" today- called the doc and got my bp med increased. I was like 154/88 today. Scary stuff - I want to go to heaven but not today!

    Good luck Blue!

Take care Zoe. My BP was 150/90 yesterday, but that's nerves and white coat syndrome. I'm on no meds and don't want to be.

I'm o.k. I went to a convenient care clinic for a cellulitis and was disappointed with what the scale said.........ugh. I've been bad for sure.

{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{Tweety}}}}}}}}}} so you have taken it yourself, outside of the office?

Mine was good yest. afternoon (relative to what it was!)...

As to the scale, ugh is right - dr's scale was up 4 lb from what the one at home says! But that is always the case ... Again, it is all relative. If MY OWN scales show it's going down, I'm happy.

    What's up with the cellulitis?

BP 140/90 today. Ugh......I'll be on medication soon if this keeps up. Zoe, I've got a hot cellulitis to my left elbow. Probably from an ingrown hair. I'm on antibiodics so it hopefuly will get better in the next couple of days.

Usually I can keep my BP unders congrol naturally, so I'm going to keep up with that for now.
