Okay, remembered to bring in the order of service from Sunday. Here are the words of their unison benediction, which I found inspirational for myself...

"Go in peace, speak truth, give thanks each day.
Respect the earth and all creatures for they are alive like you.
Care for your body; it is a wondrous gift. Be gentle with yourself.
Live simply. Be of service. Be guided by your faith and not your fear.
Go lightly on your way. Walk in a sacred manner."

Got my workout in last night... noticing that I wasn't QUITE as tired as usual afterwards, though my thighs were still shaking at the end. Also, it's really helping my flexibility. I notice myself being able to stretch farther. Thinking of adding in mini workouts on the "off" days. The DVDs have "bonus" workouts of 10 mins. or so, so think maybe doing those will help keep the momentum up. Scale's back to where it's been hanging out for the past week or so. Hoping to get it to budge a bit down this week!

Deb, glad to hear that you are feeling good!

Tweety, you are abolutely your own worst critic. We so admire your discipline and determination here. Please try to believe us! I know it's tough, though, I tend to get in that mindset myself at times.

Angie, I like your idea of having a good effect on others, not just yourself. I think we can all work to spread more good will and less bitterness.

Jess, sorry to hear about your test, hon. You will get it, though. This is different than anything you've done before (not that I've been through nursing school yet, but so I've heard). We're here to cheer you on! Best of luck.

Hi there. I just got back from my weigh-in and to my surprise lost some even though I was cooped up in a condo with three teenage boys for 4 days.

Deb, I read what you said about the emotional aspects to health. It's so true. I had a very difficult growing up, and was actually anorexic during my teen years. I was 5'4" and weighed 98 pounds at high school graduation. Once I got married and still had emotional issues haunting me, I started to eat to avoid dealing with those issues.

I'm still tracking down a therapist that I feel in sync with to help me with some of those issues because I know if I don't deal with that, no diet is going to help me obtain my goals of a healthy weight and healthy lifestyle.

Kat, congrats on the 5 lb. weight loss. Best of luck in dealing with those issues.

I didn't work out today because I had meetings at work, but I managed to go to yoga which thoroughly kicked my butt.

I have to go dig out my treadmill this morning and really don't feel like it. It got buried under stuff we were shifting around while painting. But I'll do it because I'm already dressed for it and I really, really want to keep up the momentum.

I pigged out yesterday in celebration of my weight loss. Go figure. Actually it wasn't nearly as bad as I have in the past so now I'm back on track.

howdy peeps! :spin: feeding thyself well today? for breakfast, i ate scrambled eggs with cheese and turkey mixed in for a omelette like affect, and two slices of cinnamon bread. :d haven't used the treadmill today or yesterday. wasn't feeling too good then, but am starting to feel better now. i feel a nap in my afternoon schedule. if i don't fall asleep, i'll lay down and kick back to catch up on reading two books that i've alternated reading.

(((((((jessica))))))) i am so sorry you didn't fair as well as you would've liked to on your exam yesterday, but you did pass. so...there are still more exams to take that will even out your grade, okay? :kiss

Had a wellness fair at work today... numbers look good. BP 98/70, cholesterol 148, glucose 69 (hadn't eaten anything yet), BMI within acceptable range and body fat in the "fitness" range. Scale was up a lb. this morning. Dunno why. But I did get a mini workout in last night. Will do a full one tonight.

Kat, congrats on the weight loss! Good luck in finding a therapist. Didja find the treadmill? :chuckle

Tweety, do you not count yoga as a workout? If it kicked your butt... I'd say it was a workout!

Renee, take care of yourself there. Been battling a bit of a cold recently myself. Hasn't hit me with the usual force, but enough to be annoying.

arciedee, those are awesome numbers! Kudos! I definately count the yoga as a workout, it strengthens and makes you flexible. It's also hot yoga, in a room heated to past 100, and makes you sweat, especially when the humidity is high like it is hear in Florida.

Kat, that's so funny that in celebration you pigged out. I liked Jessica's idea of having a meal once a week that is off diet. I think as long as we get back on track immediately it's o.k. My pigout wasn't nearly as long as the days on end binges I've had in the past.

Renee, glad to hear that you're feeling well. I had a nap in my schedule as well.

Jessica, you'll do well in school, regardless of one test.

For fun I went to the veggie message board I used to attend. Right before I left a few of us started a group, kind of like this called "The Hamsters" (you know running in one of those circle treadmill thingies) and I was shocked to find a thread "The Hamsters Week 161". How cool is that? I didn't recognize any of the people there though.

As for me, I weighed and am down more than a pound, so I've reached my original goal. But I still think I need to go down a few more pounds so I'm going to try for a couple of more. I stuck to the diet today, went to the gym worked with weights and 40 minutes of areobics.

I finished my paper (one of two, the smaller one which is due first) and am going to reward myself with a trip to the health food store. I need some whole grain pastas, and see what other treats I can get myself.

Hey everyone! Remember me? I've been on a short hiatus from Allnurses but I'm back. I'll have to read through these volumes but hope everyone is doing well. I lost 35 pounds so far and dh has lost over 40. We stopped doing Seattle Sutton now that we get the whole portion control thing and I work out whenever time allows.
    Talk to you all soon!

Welcome back! Yes, of course we remember you.

Good going on the weight loss. I've noticed that in just about every sensible diet the underlying theme comes down to portion control. WW does I know. To lose weight it's calories in < calories out. That's what it's really all about. There's no magic to it. I'm finally getting it.

I did managed to dig my treadmill out and get on there. Am hitting it again this am. But now I have to find a place to put all the stuff it was buried under. DD doesn't want it back, so we have to do the old sorting/decluttering, lol.

welcome back woman! long time no hear, see, or anything for that matter! what did you do? get lost out there in cyberspace? you've been missed, and we're all glad you didn't drown out there in no man's lake. congrats on the weight loss! good job! don't come on here talking about being a size zero thru three/four because that's just wayyyyyyyy overboard with the weight loss. keep up the healthy eating habits, and exercising. i'm working hard on it myself. if i lost forty pounds, i'd be just too perfect for man's wondering eyes.
