Still has a long way to go. I know some areas still have long waiting times although the government is trying to sort that out. Bet the new restriction hours on junior doctors is not helping matters

You know MOST of the post I read from UK nurses(certainly not all)seem to be related to problems in long term care. Am I reading that correctly, is a lot of LTC paid for by NHS also?

There are nursing homes for patients requiring nursing care and residential homes for people who do not require nursing care. Can be paid with privately or by social services. Sometimes assets can be taken into account. Care can be atrocious but then there are also some great care homes. Sometimes owners are in it just for the money and care workers will be expected to do everything bar cooking, i.e laundry, cleaning as well as caring for residents.

Some information here on care homes and government requirements http://www.dh.gov.uk/en/AdvanceSearc...s=Care%20homes

It sounds like exactly same kind of problems we are having here in us with LTC.
