Pediatric Nursing in Hawaii

  1. 0 Hi all,

My fiance recently took a job with Hawaiian Airlines. We've both lived in Kona so we generally know how island life is. I don't know much about nursing in HI besides that the job market is bad. I'm not planning to move until I have more experience but I am interested in pediatrics (at this point) and I am planning to move eventually.

I know Tripler and Kapi'olani Medical Center have peds units. Are there others? I'm sure the community hospitals see peds patients but don't have specific units. I'm considering eventually going back to school to be a PNP. Are NPs used much in HI? Are there opportunities for NPs in acute care or is it mostly primary care?

    Thanks in advance.
