by Jason Payne Feb 2, '11hello all,
i am a current nursing student who is looking to move to hi after i graduate. i am trying to find out if my wife and i could even afford to live there after i graduate. now, i know what you are all thinking, that i'm a total newbie. i do admit i am new; however, i do have some experience. i started my medical career as a medic in the navy, then i worked for emsa (the largest ems service in oklahoma city and very well known) as a basic, and now i am working in the er at one of the best hospitals in the state. i am the lead tech in that er and i am coming up on my two year mark with them. i can provide excellent letters of recommendation from all the past nurses and doctors that i have worked with. these are my biggest questions:
1.) would that experience count for anything with the local hospitals?
2.) could i afford to provide for my wife until she found a job?
3.) what is the average pay rate for er nurses around the state?
4.) where would be the best place for someone like me to look for a job?
thank you so much for your time!
best regards,
jason
