KCC ADN Fall 2018

U.S.A. Hawaii

Published

Hey guys I applied for the Fall 2018 ADN Nursing program at KCC. I wanted to know who else applied and for those that already got in to the program, what were your stats/qualifications?

My stats are:

Pre-reqs - 2B's the rest A's

Coreqs - Humanities A and Pharm (taking this sem)

Teas - 82.7%

Exp - CNA exp for over 2 years. Working at a hospital now.

Thank you and Good luck to everyone who applied!!

Riveeezpoo congrats! Same here. I also got accepted to the BSN program at UH Manoa, so now I have to decide which one to go with.

That's awesome. My girlfriend graduated from the BSN program, the three year not the bridge. She said KCC students seemed really competent during clinicals, maybe because a large amount of them have had work experience. I guess it's about cost at this point and atmosphere for you.

Thanks for that advice! I do love KCC and feel at home there, and you can't beat the cost. My first instinct is to attend the ADN program there and then bridge to the BSN at UHM, but want to be sure I'm making the right decision. I actually just made a separate community post about this to get as much advice as I can.

I haven't gotten my letter yet :( Do you guys know when orientation will be?

Good luck! I'm sure it will arrive today. Orientation is 6/1/18 from 9-3.

Congratulations on getting into the program guys!!! Still waiting for my letter. The wait is killing me!

thanks guys, good luck with your results and hopefully we can all be in orientation as accepted students

I read your thread on KCC and Manoa. I was wondering how Manoa's program is faster than KCC's in regard to reaching a BSN? I thought we could bridge after graduation and obtain the BSN in a year.

@Riveeezpoo, you're right, we can complete the BSN program in one year. My understanding is that there may be a few months in between programs for the application/transfer process, which makes the process a little bit longer. I'm not 100% sure, however. I'm going to pop by the nursing advisor office next Tuesday, so I'll get back to you with more details!

Okay sounds good. If you could let me know when you find out that'd be awesome. I'm also considering bridging over once I graduate from KCC.

You got it!

Did your guys' major change on STAR? I was just wondering if there was any other way to check. :nailbiting:
