Hawaii New Grad RNs

U.S.A. Hawaii

Published

Hello! Just wanted to get acquainted with any new grad RNs in Hawaii and to see how you guys are transitioning into your new roles as "real nurses". They don't teach you a lot of things in nursing school about what really happens on the floor and in the hospital. Nursing is very demanding but it has its rewards:)

HI, I am a nursing student in my last year in Alaska. I will (finally) be graduating in May. My husband and I will be moving to Oahu in the following August, for about 9months. Any advice on getting a job there or where to live? I would prefer not to live right in Honolulu, and don't mind a commute. Any advice particularly on jobs would be great! I would prefer not to work in a hospital, i am very interested in public health nursing or doctor office nursing.

Thanks for any help anyone can offer!:)

Kaiser Permanente is on Oahu. If you're looking for jobs, check out Career Builder. I am hoping to move to Oahu in a few years. Good luck.
