I am a EC graduated and I worked in a clinic setting while going through the program. If you are a new LPN with no experience it maybe more difficult.

I also agree with the other posters you have to be self-motivated to complete this program.

I have a friend who was an lpn and went to the university of phoenix for there lpn to rn pathway and he graduated and is now a rn at tripler.

he said it was expensive and also mostly online based.

i too am looking for an lpn to rn program.i here kapiolani offers one but the wait list is intense.im getting sooo frustrated..Im teaching at a really well known CNA program,both lectures and clinicle evaluations,but...Im gettin tired and really would like to get through the rn program before im getting student cna's to care for me LOL..anyway if you have any luck with the on-line schools please please let me know

Dear tobeyorr lpn:
Have you thought about applying to an LPN program, and starting from scratch? Starting at the first semester? I know it's more time and $$, but at least you can get started with something. After 1 year, it's guaranteed that YOU WILL start RN classes.

I've been told that University of Hawai'i and all the community colleges are changing their cirriculum, starting in Fall 2010. All of them will be teaching the same material in the same classes, all at the same time. (I'm not saying I'm 100% correct, it's just what I've heard.)

Instead of trying to jump in, in the middle of the program, it might be far easier to start at the beginning with everyone else. Hope that helps! (If it does, please click "kudos.")
