Manoa Spring 2010 Admissions

by P-LuDe

I have already submitted in my application for the Spring 2010 Nursing program at Manoa and I was wondering what my chances are of getting in. Both my pre-req and cumulative GPA is a 3.4, I scored a 128 on my NLN giving me a 90% percentile score in the all column, and as for the NET I got a 84%.

Well, Good luck to you...I just started my first semester (Fall '09) at Manoa, so I know the feeling of waiting...

Here were my GPA & Scores
Pre-Requisite GPA-4.0
Cumulative GPA-3.43
NET Scores- 88%

I'm not sure if anything changed in admission requirements, but I had Pharm completed, and Stats in the process, as well as all my other graduation requirements, with the exception of FSHN 475, when I sent in my application...

Like frow, I just started my first semester at Manoa. I didn't have Pharmacology under my belt yet (I took it over the summer), and I didn't have statistics either, just the basic prereqs needed to get in. I'm not sure how much that really plays into the final decision. That being said, your NLN scores are pretty impressive.

my prereq GPA: 4.0
my GPA: 3.9
my NLN score: 98%

The waiting is tough, but the time will come sooner than you think. Then you'll have a lot more to worry about. The best advice I can give you was the advice I got when I was waiting: find out what you need for your health clearances, and get going on that. The faster you get that done, the more choices you'll have for your clinicals. Good luck!

Hmmmm... who are you? Haha, no, you don't have to tell me. It's funny now that we've started the semester, I'm always wondering who posts here. Hope you did good on Friday's exam.

Thank you for your comments! You all had such competitive GPAs and entrance exam scores. Do you guys know of anyone currently in the nursing program who got in with a profile similar to mines? I just hope I get in this upcoming spring semester. Thank you again!

I've been out of school for 7yrs now and I'm wanting to finish my BSN that I started at HPU. HPU sorta screwed me over back in 2002 and my GPA isn't so good due to that "mishap". I have not take this NET test you all have been talking about. What is covered in that test? I just got accepted into UH and I want to know how I can get into the Nursing program and finish my degree. The last class I took at HPU was Critical Care and it was my VERY last class. When HPU screwed me over I went and took the LPN boards and have been an LPN since 2003. Do I have a chance of ever finishing my schooling at UH or do you all think I should find another school?

I got in with a 3.4 gpa in both cumulative and prereq courses. My NET composite was 88%. I did not have statistics or FSHN completed at the time of application.

Good luck in getting in
