Hi! I will be graduating in May 2010 from UF with a BSN; I have been trying to research different nurse residency programs and opportunities but am having a hard time finding them. I've found a few, but i'm sure there are more out there. Does anyone have any suggestions or advice? When should I start applying to programs/hospitals? I'm interested in moving to Boston or Atlanta if I could find a residency program that I would be able to get into...

Don't limit yourself to only those hospitals that use the word "residency." Many hospitals have programs that are basically the same thing but use words like "internship," and "new grad program."

Find hospitals that appeal to you. Then investigate their orientation program to see if it is right for you -- regardless of what they call it. What they call the program is much less important than what it actually is ... and whether the hospital is a nice place to work.

Where is "UF"? Florida?

KDMC is still hiring new grads. They seem to have a very decent new grad program (6 weeks long, at the end of which you get to interview for your top 3 preferred specialties), and have cohorts starting the new grad orientation in July & August. They don't offer relocation, loan repayment, or sign-on bonus, but they seem to have a very high employee retention rate & decent benefits.

yeah, i am trying to find so new grad residency/nursing programs. this website had some hospital programs, i just clicked on the hospitals websites i was interested in and checked if they had that kind of program. i hope it helps. if you find other websites please post them so i can check them out
