Thumbs up Re: No JOB- Spare time=LOSE WEIGHT!
OK, today is Sunday, so I earned my sticker to start the week off. Now at least we have a window air conditioner, so I can crank it up when I'm ready to exercise. This is the first time in history that I've ever had air. Now that I'm older, I just cannot heat or cool myself well. I know my sis earned her sticker too, 'cause she called me on her cell during her walk. Hope you all can keep up the faith this week!

Hello
Thanks for starting this thread, which I love and it is very motivated. I , myself just became a RN recently, now in the process of finding a job to do what I love which is nursing. I am praying and I know that the Lord already has a job that has my name on it.
About exercising, I love it. I am losing all this extra pounds that I gained over nursing school. I think we all can related to this thread because we all have suffered from it, this weird disease. (LOL). I work out at the gym. My favorite machine right now is the elliptical trainer which is really cool. I am losing more calories in a 30 minute work out than what I used to lose in the threadmill. I also walk/jog a couple of times on the track. I do free weights and I used some of the machines. So It is going pretty good so far. Glory be to God. I can see my body changing and to tell you the thruth I love it. I want to be a healthy nurse so I can be a role model to my patients and as well to help me with all the demands of a job as a nurse. Sometimes we gotta lift patients, bend, walk and stand for a long time and if we incorporate a good nutrition program plus exercises that we enjoy we definately cant go wrong. I thank God for this opportunity. He gave me this chance and I want to say that Lord I wont dissapoint you and I love you with all my Heart LordJesus.

congratulations, Keep exercising and we are all in this together with a mutual Goal: BECOME THE BEST WE CAN BE. JOINING THE ONES WHO DARE TO CARE. NURSES ARE THE KEY. NURSES ARE THE ONES WHO HEAL AND COMFORT. THANK YOU.

I love this site!
Ok, now to the topic at hand. I was going to stress out this summer by reading for next semester, doing drug cards and reviewing practice test questions. Yes, I know that this is important. Well, I have modified this objective. After a hectic year of clinicals; I have decided to put myself on the "to do list", and joined Weight Watchers and exercise on a regular basis. Even though I still plan on reviewing practice test questions and doing my drug cards, I feel great. This will make me a better SN and ultimately a better nurse!

Good going everybody! I'm three for three this week so far. You do know I'm not a graduate nurse, right? Hope you'll all let me stay in this thread. We've all got the same goals!

Of course you can stay in this thread....it is for everyone looking for the same goals. Friday is my weigh in day and I am excitied to see how much as came off this week. I am worked very hard and haven't given myself a day off recently, but it actually feels great. Today I ran/walk mostly ran 45 mins and do 45 mins a pilates. I am so excitied to reach my goals and everything that comes along with that along the way. Keep up the good work!!!!!!

Love this thread!!! Thank you OP! I am currently only employed 24 hours/week and have used my spare time to train for my first ever triathlon, which is coming up in September. An FYI for fellow nurses who are feeling the crunch of the job market - I don't know if this is across the board, but my YMCA here in NH is offering free summer memberships for those who have lost their jobs. Thought that was a nice tidbit that fit in well with this thread. Way to go everyone! Keep pushing!

Tomorrow is my weight in day and I am so nervous I worked so hard this week, but now I am scared that it may not pay off. Wish me luck and I will let you all know how it goes.
